Snow On The Mountains

Over Thanksgiving weekend, a winter storm came through southern California and left snow all over the the Topa Topa mountains that boarder the Ojai Valley. It was beautiful and magical to walk outside and, turning from as far as I could see west to all the way east, snow.

Last season, upper elevations we can see from our yard would hold snow for a few days at a time, but this storm dropped snow at lower elevations, and made it feel that winter is finally here.

And thank goodness. Just 10 days before this I took A down to the ocean for a beach day in my last ditch effort to "appreciate" the endless summer vibes, when really I was so over the heat and fire weather I cried. Multiple times.

I know it's not a deep freezing winter like the kind the rest of the country is just beginning to settled into. I know we could very well have 70 and sunny next week, but I miss seasons. Having the weather shift to chilly with rain and mountain snow, is a serious snowflake balm for my heart.

I've been slowing down for weeks, but it feels as if nature's vibes are finally aligning with mine. Big gratitude for that.
