Past Life Sisters?

Just a quick post to celebrate hanging out with this lovely gal last week.Do you have friends where you feel connected in this sibling way? So, I don't mean in a soul-mate kind of way or in a you've-known-each-other-for-20-years way, but in a easy-going, you-can-rely-on-this-person-totally way?That's Steph for me.She's nothing like anyone else in my family (and she'd probably say the same for me), but I don't know. We're not cut from the same cloth, though we both hail from Long Island. We don't share DNA, though we devour books, travel and anything by Elizabeth Gilbert.I just feel like we must've been sisters in another life or something.She's almost done with a crazy accelerated bachelors nursing program and I could not be more proud of her. Having her visit on a whim last week was the best.Our pre-visit conversation went something like this:S: Hey, so I don't know how busy you are, or what your schedule is, or if you're around...Me: Steph, stop. What do you need?S: Oh, I was just wondering if, maybe, and you can say no, but if I could, um, stay at your place on Tuesday night?Me: OH MY GOD YES OF COURSE YOU CAN. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!I mean, I like hosting people at my place, staying up late talking and cooking breakfast in the morning, but this was a treat. She was only in town for two and a half days, and I basically got to hang out with her for 24hrs. Just magic.Wishing her a happy last 8 weeks of school - you're in the home stretch!
