Death Cold Living

juice_sicksick_napcoldmeds_sickIt's been almost two weeks of being sick with the death cold. I've tried everything from daytime and nighttime cold meds, three types of cough drops, spoons of honey, countless mugs of tea, naps, sleeping / not sleeping then sleeping on the couch, homemade green juice, store-bought juice, and also eye wash (b/c this sickness came with an eye infection #goodtimes). With all of that, I've been super fucking frustrated that I'm ill and also, totally great (partially the daytime cold meds, I'm sure). I worked from the office, got stuff done with the help of my assistant, went out with friends for dinner, ate frozen yogurt, and walked the dog a lot (running isn't an option right now). We started House of Cards, finished Fargo and I've seen a few more episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Girls. When I get stuck I turn to online resources, of course. While I don't have chronic health issues, this sickness is making me fully aware of the limits of my energy, how important it is to take care of my body, and how grateful I am to normally have my health.Esme Wang and Grace Quantock both write about owning a business while living with chronic health challenges. Grace pulled together a ton of helpful links in her post Entrepreneurship and Disability. Esme explains in detail her workflow in the perfectly titled How To Be Productive When Living With Chronic Illness (Or Any Sort of Unpredictable Life Situation) Part 1 and Part 2.I'm taking each day (and each evolution of this sickness) as it comes. This is a busy week at work, but I also know it's temporary. What gets done is exactly what needs to get done. Everything else will sort itself out. It's OK to adapt to whatever the week brings me.I encourage you to do the same xo
