Piqued

carterLAWell, if this photo doesn't sum up SoCal living, I don't know what does. #thehandsomestIt's been a hell of a close to 2015.Today starts my 2 week vacation for the holidays, and I'm baffled I made it. On Monday, when I was a puddle of tears at my desk, I thought surely I would have to take the rest of the week off - just give into it all - but sharing my story created a flood of support and that lifted me up. Thank you again for your kind words. This is the last Piqued of 2015 - and it's a random compilation. I plan on blogging over the holidays, but I can't promise how often. I hope you'll be away from electronic screens anyways, spending time with your special people & enjoying the season.Reflection posts are all the rage this week: Lindsey's covered the first quarter of 2015, Liz covered her whole year, Chris shared his annual review, and Susannah is sharing her year in photos. Then there's Esme's and Rachel's top posts. All of these get me excited to write some reflective posts myself. And don't even get me started on the best books of 2015!Stumbled back on Alexandra Franzen's writing via Tiffany Han's podcast. Alex shares 15 Holiday Gift Ideas. (Mostly "experiences". Not "stuff".) She also got me thinking about how many minutes we have in our lives, and how small that number seems. As I'm writing this post, we have 15,700 minutes left in 2015 (give or take) - how do you want to spend them?Xanthe Berkeley's photographs and videos are swoon-worthy -- and this memory postcard is giving me the itch to start capturing my life in video too. Also walking the edge of jumping into art journaling.Still feeling all the feelings about your unfinished projects? Elizabeth Dillow shares her unfinished project progress.Last, but not least, Susannah Conway released Unravelling The Year and a small email course for Find Your Word. For the past 5 years, I've picked a word of the year instead of making any major new year's resolutions - it's served me beautifully. And for the past 3 years, I've diligently filled out the Unravelling packet, and it's awesome to go back and revisit my intuitive annual reviews and dreams for the next year.I hope you have a wonderful last two weeks to your year. Much love to you and yours. xoRead all of the Piqued posts.
