This Grateful Season - Trust

This year I picked "trust" as my One Little Word.Trust: (verb) Believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of.This little word has taught me more than I ever imagined. It wasn't until April, 4 months into 2012, when things started to kick in. Then in June there was a shining example of it here. And my wedding going off without a hitch (except out vows hah) was the ultimate gift. Each time life threatened to drag me down (especially with good things, which can make you feel oh-so-ungrateful) I went back to the idea of trust.Trust that things will work out, that people mean well, that I can just show up and it'll be good. Trust in what I like, what I don't, and who to spend time with. Trust that I'll have enough time, that what needs to get done is getting done, that people will show up, that my instinct are correct. Most importantly, it's become a touchstone for the definition above applied to MYSELF. Belief in the reliability, strength and truth of ME. The more I practice this, the better I've gotten. And it's allowed me to develop a confidence in myself that I lost back in the day.So today, on my first day of this Grateful Season, I am thankful for this word finding me and my own commitment to it as the year went by. And thankful to you for reading.Find a list here and start thinking about your own OLW for 2013. You may be surprised which one finds you._______For the month of November, I write each day about something I'm grateful for and call it Grateful Season. It's my way of reviewing the amazing year I've had and helps me focus on blogging during the crazy holiday season uptick. Feel free to join me - just make sure you let me know!
